Claire Chapman was appointed as General Counsel & Company Secretary, DMGT plc in September 2012 and is responsible for DMGT’s legal and regulatory requirements, M&A programmes, contracts, corporate projects, effective governance and Board management. She heads up DMGT’s GRC or Governance Risk and Compliance group of Legal, Company Secretariat, Risk and Internal Audit.
Before joining DMGT plc Claire was General Counsel and Group Company Secretary at Inchcape plc, focusing on emerging markets acquisitions and joint ventures, particularly in Eastern Europe and Russia, technology projects and risk management. She also spent 11 years at Reuters in a range of international legal roles. She has extensive experience in global mergers & acquisitions, major contracts, corporate and IT projects, restructurings, effective corporate governance, legal and compliance programmes, and Board management. Claire was formerly a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Derringer. Claire is a qualified solicitor for England and Wales and Attorney at Law, New York. She also has a Masters in International Law.
