Neville has spent over 20 years working in insurance, previously at Lloyds, St James’s Place and AEGON before moving to RSA in 2005.

Before qualifying as a lawyer, Neville spent 10 years in the Army, finishing as a Captain in the Royal Engineers.  He is a keen sailor with 3 children and lives on the Suffolk coast, where he can indulge his passion for being on the water.

Will Hutton is chair of the Big Innovation Centre, a business lead do tank and innovation hub that promotes open innovation. He is also the former executive vice chair of The Work Foundation. Will is an outstanding conference facilitator and keynote speaker on European and global economic issues

Will began his career as a stockbroker and investment analyst, before working in BBC TV and radio as a producer and reporter. From 1983-88 he was the Economics Editor on ‘Newsnight’ and a reporter for ‘Panorama’. From 1981-83 he was the Producer/Director of ‘The Money Programme’ for BBC2 and from 1978-81 he was the producer/editor of Radio 4’s programme ‘The Financial World Tonight’. Before joining The Work Foundation, Will spent four years as editor in chief of the Observer and he continues to write a weekly column for the paper.

The Work Foundation is an independent, not for dividend research based consultancy which is the most influential voice on work, workplace and employment issues in Britain. Will resigned from his position as executive vice Chair in 2011. He is now Chair of the Big Innovation Centre, which exists to make the UK a global open innovation hub, to build a world-class innovation ecosystem, and re-balance and grow the UK economy.

Will has written several best-selling economic books including The World We’re In, The State We’re In, The State to Come, The Stakeholding Society and On The Edge with Anthony Giddens. The State We’re In was the first best seller on political economy for a generation. Will’s book, The Writing on the Wall: China and the West in the 21st Century, was published in the UK in January 2007.

Will is now Principal of Hertford College, Oxford. He previously won the Political Journalist of the Year award and has written a weekly column for more than 15 years, six years at the Guardian and nine at the Observer.

Clare is Head of Legal for Travelex’s foreign exchange retail, wholesale & partner services businesses in Europe, the Middle East, Africa & Asia Pacific and Travelex’s global New Markets function and a board director of its UK operating subsidiaries. Clare also has responsibility for legal support of central Group Services (IT, HR, Procurement, Property, IPR). Clare leads a team of 10 lawyers based in London, Mumbai, Shanghai and Sydney and co-ordinates a wider legal team supporting global business development activities from New York and San Paulo. Clare has been at Travelex for 9 years in a number of different global leadership roles, prior to which she was in private practice specialising in Corporate Finance and M&A at two leading City firms. Clare was shortlisted  for in-house council of the year at the British Legal Awards 2015, included in the FT Part-Time Power Top 50 in 2013 and led her team to win the FT’s Most Innovative European In-House Legal Team in 2012. Ann Bevitt is a partner in Cooley’s London office. Her broad-ranging employment practice covers all aspects, both contentious and non-contentious, of employment law and employment-related matters.  Ann has particular expertise advising on employee privacy issues. She assists clients with all aspects of privacy and data security compliance and risk management, and advises on issues such as effecting data transfers, drafting privacy policies, rolling out new technologies in the workplace, contractual arrangements with third party service providers, electronic marketing, GDPR compliance, monitoring employees, dealing with e-discovery, undertaking internal investigations, responding to subject access requests and notifying breaches.

Daniel is the CEO of Lexoo, a legal tech company enabling businesses and in-house teams to tender legal work to Lexoo’s panel of prescreened lawyers. Lexoo’s panel of over 230 lawyers are typically ex City lawyers who are now working on a lower overhead basis. Lexoo was named a Financial Times Innovation to Watch and is backed by a number of prominent investors such as Forward Partners and the Mayor of London’s Co-Investment Fund. Before founding Lexoo, Daniel was a senior associate at an international law firm (De Brauw), first in Amsterdam, then in London.

James was appointed General Counsel of EE following the merger of Orange and T-Mobile in 2010, and was previously General Counsel of T-Mobile UK for 6 years. James is Company Secretary to the Board and Chair of the Risk & Compliance Board. James has an MA & M.Phil from Cambridge University and is a solicitor.

James has led the legal & regulatory team through various mergers and integrations, including the recent acquisition by BT, was called as a witness to the Leveson Inquiry to explain and represent the business on the various aspects of mobile phone hacking and phone security, and then led EE through the launch of 4G to become the leading mobile operator in the UK. James was the Legal 500 Telecoms Individual of the Year in 2015.

Working out of Pangea3’s Manhattan headquarters, I manage a global team which counsels our law firm and corporate clients on how best to leverage the over 1,000 talented, full-time attorneys at Pangea3 – based in India, Europe and the United States. When used correctly, Pangea3’s attorneys become a force multiplier for our clients’ legal teams, allowing them to efficiently tackle high-volume, repeatable legal task associated with complex litigation, M&A, contract management, and global risk management/compliance (all at a small fraction of the cost of traditional legal providers).

Dan is the Deputy Head of Legal at Admiral Group Plc where he also holds a number of company secretarial roles. Dan advises on a wide range of commercial and corporate governance matters in the various jurisdictions where Admiral has a presence.  Dan trained at Field Fisher where he qualified into the IP disputes team in 2005.  When Dan relocated to Cardiff in 2008 he spent a few years in the IP/commercial litigation team at Osborne Clarke in Bristol before joining Admiral in September 2010.  Dan lives in Cardiff with his wife and three children.

Claire Chapman was appointed as General Counsel & Company Secretary, DMGT plc in September 2012 and is responsible for DMGT’s legal and regulatory requirements, M&A programmes, contracts, corporate projects, effective governance and Board management. She heads up DMGT’s GRC or Governance Risk and Compliance group of Legal, Company Secretariat, Risk and Internal Audit.

Before joining DMGT plc Claire was General Counsel and Group Company Secretary at Inchcape plc, focusing on emerging markets acquisitions and joint ventures, particularly in Eastern Europe and Russia, technology projects and risk management. She also spent 11 years at Reuters in a range of international legal roles. She has extensive experience in global mergers & acquisitions, major contracts, corporate and IT projects, restructurings, effective corporate governance, legal and compliance programmes, and Board management. Claire was formerly a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Derringer. Claire is a qualified solicitor for England and Wales and Attorney at Law, New York. She also has a Masters in International Law.

Susan Crichton is a solicitor with over 25 years of in-house experience within the Financial Services Industry.  She joined TSB in January 2014 as General Counsel and Company Secretary from the Post Office, where she held the role of General Counsel and was instrumental in separating the Post Office from Royal Mail, prior to its initial public offering.

Before that, Susan worked at Old Mutual/ Skandia where her role focussed on risk and corporate governance.  She was General Counsel, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), for GE Money for nine years responsible for legal, compliance and government relations in the region.

Mark is a partner in Cooley’s London office. He is a commercial litigator, with considerable experience of complex domestic and cross-border litigation, international arbitration and regulatory matters. Mark specialises in TMT litigation; contentious privacy, data protection and cybersecurity issues; and financial services disputes. He has particular experience in a variety of industry sectors in addition to TMT, including aviation and aerospace, communications, digital and banking and finance. His previous work includes acting for several financial institutions and FTSE-100 companies in relation to data breach issues, leading to notifications to regulatory bodies and Parliament.

I joined Unilever 4 years ago, first at General Counsel for the Global Categories (Personal Care, Homecare, Food, Refreshment), the Global Marketing teams, and the Global Intellectual Property expertise group.

I am now in charge of European legal matters, and have taken the lead for global e-commerce, retail, digital marketing and privacy matters.

Prior to joining Unilever, I was Head of Legal for the UK & Ireland for Nestle. I was also Chair of the Compliance Committee and Trustee Director of the pension fund.  Most of my career has been with the Nestle Group first as Legal Counsel for the Latin American and North American regions, then Legal Counsel – Mergers and Acquisitions, and joint ventures.

Before Nestle, I worked as an associate in a Montreal, Canada law firm in the corporate team.

I have a Bachelor in Law and a Masters in Law from the University of Montreal, Canada and am admitted to the Quebec Bar.  I am also admitted to the Law Society of England and Wales.

I am originally from Canada but have been living abroad for over 20 years in total. I have two daughters. I enjoy travelling, art and music, skiing.

Brad Duncan is Head of Legal and Company Secretary for the Carbon Trust. The Carbon Trust’s mission is to accelerate the move to a sustainable, local carbon economy and its global business includes policy and innovation consulting, private equity and venture capital, investment advice, regulated consumer lending and environmental certification. Prior to the Carbon Trust, Brad was Director and Deputy General Counsel at Citigroup where he specialised in capital markets, project finance, private equity and real estate. Brad joined Citigroup in 2006 from Linklaters in London where he was a Managing Associate in the structured finance group. Brad originally qualified in NSW, Australia and began his career as a Solicitor at Mallesons in 1998.

Chrissi is the Legal Director for Randstad UK and MENA with responsibility for legal, compliance, risk & audit, and government relations and is a member of the UK Board.

Having trained with a City Law Firm, and following a period in their corporate department, Chrissi moved in house, initially with Vauxhall Motors.  She has held a variety of other in-house legal roles including European Attorney at General Motors, Head of Legal at Booker plc and General Counsel of Mercedes-Benz. She joined Randstad in 2014 after running her own legal risk consulting practice for 5 years.

Chrissi has a wealth of commercial legal experience in particular on regulatory compliance and commercial contract negotiations.

Daniel Greenberg is a lawyer specialising in legislation and the legislative process.  He served in the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel from 1991 to 2010.  From 2010 to 2016 he divided his time between serving as an adviser in the Office of Speaker’s Counsel, House of Commons and acting as consultant Parliamentary Counsel at Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP.  In August 2016 he was appointed Counsel for Domestic Legislation in the House of Commons.  He also serves as the General Editor of Westlaw UK Annotated Statutes and Insight Encyclopaedia.  He drafts primary and subordinate legislation in the UK, and has provided drafting and training services in Albania, Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Malaysia, Myanmar, South Georgia and elsewhere.  He is also the Editor of Craies on Legislation, Stroud’s Judicial Dictionary and Jowitt’s Dictionary of English Law, the Editor in Chief of the Statute Law Review and the Editor of Halsbury’s Laws on Statutes.  He is an Associate Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London, a faculty member of the legislative drafting course of Athabasca University and a Director of the Constitution Reform Group.

I am the Chief Compliance Officer for Thomson Reuters. As CCO, I lead the Company’s global, enterprise-wide compliance efforts, including with regards to Anti-bribery & corruption, Privacy, Business ethics, Sanctions and trade control issues. I am the Legal function representative on the Risk Committee and drive the ERM process, working with Risk Committee chairs, Deirdre Stanley & Neil Masterson. Since May 2016 I am also the General Counsel of TR’s Enterprise Centre in Baar Switzerland and a member of the ET&O leadership team, providing oversight of the legal support for TRGR and ET&O and acting as a director and board secretary for TRGR.

From July 1, 2013, I was the General Counsel Europe and Asia for Thomson Reuters Financial & Risk based in London. I also sat on the F&R Investment Committee and oversee M&A activities for F&R globally.

My career with Thomson Reuters spans over 10 years in roles that include General Counsel of Thomson Financial and General Counsel, Americas of the Markets and later Financial & Risk business.

Prior to joining Thomson Financial, I was a partner at Morrison & Foerster and co-head of the firm’s global M&A practice. I was outside M&A counsel to The Thomson Corporation on many transactions, starting with the acquisition of West Publishing in 1996 and spent 10 years on the Reuters account while growing up as a lawyer at Weil, Gotshal & Manges. My practice focused on complex mergers and acquisitions, and federal securities regulation. I also have substantial experience in public offerings, debt and equity financings, restructurings, internal investigations and regulatory compliance matters.
I received my J.D., cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, where I was a member of the Law Review, and my B.A., cum laude, from New York University, where I was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. I worked full time through both college and law school. I am a native New Yorker.

Daniel is the Senior Vice President of Globality, responsible for accelerating the growth of global client projects for the first-ever B2B services marketplace.

Most recently, Daniel was the Managing Director, EMEA & APAC of the international operations at NAVEX Global, the world’s largest SaaS and consulting firm focused on ethics, compliance and risk. Daniel previously served as a Managing Director of CMS Cameron McKenna, Europe’s largest law and tax firm, where he co-founded and launched Law-Now Limited, which is a SaaS-based training technology in the international legal market. Earlier in his career, Daniel was the Director at the Corporate Executive Board (CEB) managing the growth of several prominent corporate leadership councils.

Veena leads eBay’s Global IP team, with lawyers and paralegals in the US, Europe and Asia.  The businesses she supports include Marketplaces, StubHub and eBay Classifieds Group.  She and her team advise the business, legal and government relations colleagues on a range of cutting-edge, non-patent IP issues and strategies in eBay’s fast paced environment. She and her team are also responsible for the management of eBay’s brands, through its trademark and domain portfolios.

Veena joined eBay in 2007 and had been responsible for advice spanning various areas of law, including e-commerce, consumer protection, competition, data privacy and structuring key site initiatives and products.  She joined the IP team in 2012.

Prior to joining eBay, Veena spent time working in UKTV and with Osborne Clarke’s London Media team.

Trish Mills is the Director of Legal Services, having joined Sidra in January 2012 following a successful legal career in the UK and Australia.  Upon relocating with her family to Qatar in 2006 she worked at the Doha English Speaking School and was a governor there from 2010 to 2013, serving on various committees and leading the board’s governance work stream.

Trish brings with her skills and experience in legal strategy, employment law, governance risk and compliance solutions, records management, team structures and project management.  Her practice at Sidra has a significant human resources, policy, compliance, governance, and dispute resolution focus.  She is also responsible for the administrative aspects of the legal services division and the delivery of training and mentoring of its graduate associates.

With a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of New South Wales, Australia and a LLM (Applied Laws) from the College of Law, New South Wales, Australia, Trish is currently embarking on International Coaching Federation coach training in Doha.     Trish is a member of the New South Wales Law Society and is admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.

Matt joined Royal Mail Group in 2015 and is responsible for a portfolio that includes commercial litigation, employment, pensions and employee incentives, personal injury and health and safety. Matt plays an active role in the management of the Legal team and has recently led on the expansion of the team by 50% with the opening of a Sheffield office. Prior to joining Royal Mail, Matt was Global Head of Employment Law and HR Regulatory Affairs at The Royal Bank of Scotland during which time he played a lead role in the bank’s investigations of the LIBOR and Forex issues. Matt trained at Linklaters and practiced as an employment lawyer there for 4 years.

Janvi Patel is a NewLaw pioneer and has been spearheading operational, structural and cultural change within the legal services industry since starting Halebury in 2007.  Her aim: to create an entirely original business model to service the needs of clients and lawyers at the senior end of the market. Vijay is a Partner with the Forensic and Investigations practice, leading the Digital Forensics Group at Grant Thornton. He is a UK qualified solicitor, with over ten years of experience working in a range of legal fields including Corporate and Transactional work, Personal Injury and Negligence, and Corporate Litigation.

He has been engaged on many high profile investigations and disputes across a range of industries, specialising in investigations in the financial sector. In his role as a lawyer within the Enforcement and Financial Crime Division of the FSA he advised on regulatory actions and assisted in establishing enforcement strategy for the financial markets.

Vijay also specialises in the fields of cybercrime, cyber-security, incident response and data breaches. Over six years he has managed some of the UK’s most high-profile Digital Forensic investigations, and specialises in large scale, complex and cross-border matters. He works closely with cyber-insurers and insureds on questions of quantification and liability.

Vijay also consults on Electronic Disclosure and Discovery projects, providing expert advisory and court opinions on practical approaches to the increasingly complex digital data environments corporate and legal clients operate in. He consults regularly on data protection, data governance and cost-effective and efficient approaches to the EDRM and electronic investigations. He is currently assisting the Courts of England and Wales in re-drafting the Civil Procedure Rules on Electronic Data and Disclosure. He has provided expert evidence in court and has contributed to legal texts on investigations.

Sam is Head of Legal at WorldRemit, a money transfer service that enables migrants to send money online to their friends and family back home.  The company has raised over $140 million from investors including Accel and TCV and is processing over 500,000 money transfers a month from over 50 countries to over 120 countries.  Prior to this Sam was a VP at Barclays in its Operations & Technology division (this was a legal role but he also undertook a secondment as an Innovation and Customer Experience manager) and he originally trained and qualified as a corporate lawyer at Olswang.

Simon is a Partner in the firm and Head of our Corporate and Commercial Team. He is a trusted adviser to public companies, start-up businesses, non-UK companies and venture capital investors. Simon specialises in mergers, acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, mbis/mbos, venture capital and shareholding structures.

He spent part of his career working in New York, Paris and the Middle East. Simon has particular experience in international and cross border deals and advises inward investors on doing business in the UK.

Catie is Chief Privacy Officer and Associate General Counsel for Core markets at Pearson. She leads Pearson’s global privacy programme and acts as the primary legal counsel to the President of the Core markets group (one of Pearson’s 3 territorial groupings, covering UK, Europe, Africa and APAC). She leads a team of 20 lawyers, privacy and contracts professionals.

She studied law at the London School of Economics, Law Society Finals at the College of Law, then did a Stage at European Commission in 1993/94. Prior to Pearson, she trained with Linklaters law firm then had a short stint with Charles Russell in the Commercial team. She has worked at Pearson for 17 years, always as part of the International Legal team.

Pearson’s global legal team has been particularly innovative over the past 3 years, transforming its structure, introducing a number of new software solutions and streamlining its processes. It continues to look for new ways to manage its costs effectively whilst providing great support and advice for Pearson.

Raj Singh-Dehal joined Center Parcs in 2009 as Company Secretary and joined the Board of Directors as HR & Commercial Services Director in 2015.  Raj has a broad remit encompassing Legal, HR, Compliance and Procurement.  In 2015, Raj played a central role in a landmark year for Center Parcs; securing a site in Ireland for the 6^th Center Parcs location, completing a £1,050 billion re-financing and culminating in a £2.5 billion sale of the company to Brookfield.  Raj was recognised in “The Lawyer Hot 100 2016” for the work he has undertaken.

Prior to joining Center Parcs, Raj practised as a Corporate Lawyer at Eversheds and then went on to head the Corporate & Commercial Legal Team at Alliance & Leicester Plc.

Jenifer is General Counsel at the international money transfer platform, TransferWise, helping to change the face of the financial services industry.

Prior to TransferWise, Jenifer was General Counsel and Chief of Staff at Mind Candy, the children’s digital entertainment company.  Jenifer has extensive experience with high-growth tech companies, including leadership roles at Zynga and Yahoo!.  She started her career as a City lawyer in London, focused on transactional and IP work in the tech sector.

Jenifer appears in the 2017 GC Legal 500 Powerlist and was shortlisted for the 2015 FT Innovative Lawyers award.  She is a mother of 2 boys and a founding member of www.allrisesaynotocyberabuse.com, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to combating cyber abuse.

Claire Wells is the Legal & Business Affairs Director – Europe, for Circle, a blockchain company breaking boundaries in the FinTech sector.

Circle is a social payments platform offering free, instant, global digital money transfers and is focused on transforming the world economy with secure, simple, and less costly technology for storing and using money. Prior to joining Circle, Claire was International Counsel at Tilt.com, a San Francisco-based social payments platform, looking after their global market offering. She trained and qualified at international law firm Allen & Overy, specialising in M&A and also has experience as in-house Legal Counsel at Lloyds Bank plc.

Claire holds an MA from Cambridge University and currently lives in London.

Andy is Global Head of Contract Express at Thomson Reuters where he has overall responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the Thomson Reuters Contract Express contract automation solution. Prior to Thomson Reuters, Andy was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Business Integrity which was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2015. He is a graduate in Artificial Intelligence and Psychology from the University of Edinburgh, where he also worked as a researcher in Cognitive Science in the School of Informatics.

Together with a keen sense of justice, my interest in the commercial interactions between law and the economy caused me to pursue a legal career. My motivation came from my  daily interaction with people, and the opportunity to engage and support them, and also the joy of being able to achieve something through advocacy on their behalf, whether in court, or through negotiation. I value having direct contact with my clients; to me, building a personal and trusting relationship with them, one with a high measure of reliability is paramount.

Urs Breitsprecher was born in 1974 in Leverkusen. After obtaining his diploma in European Law (University of Wales, Aberystwyth) in 1998 and Bachelor of Law (University College London) in 2001, he completed the first juridical state examination at the University of Passau and the second state examination in 2003 at Frankfurt am Main. Furthermore, Urs Breitsprecher is qualified as: an English solicitor (2004), a specialist solicitor for business and coperate law (2007) and a specialist solicitor for tax law (2009).

From 2003 onward, Urs Breitsprecher worked in the legal department of a German bank. This was followed by freelance work from a shared office in Wuppertal and in 2007 he worked at the law firm Kleinekorte & Kollegen in Dusseldorf. In 2010 Urs Breitsprecher joined Busekist, Winter & Partner (the former appellate law firm for the Higher Regional Court) in Dusseldorf, and since June 2013 he had been a partner in his new law firm v. Woedtke & Partners.

In May 2016 Urs joined the independent law firm MKRG (Mütze Korsch Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft) as equity partner in the Corporate and Restructuring Group.

A former senior director of marketing innovation at Asda, Dom has also held senior social media, PR and corporate communications roles at the supermarket since 2002.

Prior to that he was at Direct Line in London, and Green Flag in Pudsey. He studied PR at Leeds Metropolitan University (94-98).

An award-winning communicator and marketeer, Dom was recognised in 2015 by The Drum as the eighth most influential social media professional in the UK, and by The Holmes Report as one of the top 25 digital innovators in Europe, Middle East and Africa. In 1987, he was the undisputed Berks & Bucks penalty shootout winner scoring ten in a row, his highest accolade to date.

Dom volunteers at Bradford Community Broadcasting in Bradford, where he sits on its management committee, and has been chair of the organisation since Feb 2016. Formerly Dom was a trustee of the Asda Foundation.

He founded his own strategic marketing consultancy in February 2016. His clients include Superdry, L.L. Bean, NSF International and Sun Branding Solutions.

He is also a founding director of retail consultancy GSCOP Ltd.

Shai Kuttner studied law at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and qualified as a lawyer in 1984. He worked as a lawyer in the United States from 1986 to 1991. Shai came to the Netherlands in 1992 and studied European law and tax law at the University of Amsterdam. Shai speaks fluent Hebrew and English, and he is a member of the New York Bar Association and the Israeli Bar Association.

Shai was the founding partner of a midsize international law firm in Amsterdam in 1994. He and a team of his colleagues joined forces with BWK Partners in 2014. Shai is the international practice coordinator at BWK Partners and he is also managing partner of the firm’s branch office in Israel. Shai’s practice mainly concentrates on international structuring, mergers & acquisitions, and related legal matters.

Shai has extensive experience in cross-border mergers & acquisitions as well as finance and  investments transactions. He has close ties with multinational companies in Europe, Israel and the United States and with large private companies and investors operating in a number of sectors including high-tech and medical equipment, energy, manufacturing and real estate.
