Frances Swaine
Managing Partner, Leigh Day
Frances Swaine is Leigh Day’s first managing partner and a partner in the human rights department. Leigh Day is a leading human rights and personal injury claimant firm whose main office is based in London, with 32 partners and a total of 300 staff.
Frances started her career working in clinical negligence and still maintains a clinical negligence practice today, with over 20 years’ experience in that field, but her practice has now developed into the field of human rights and medical ethics. Frances specialises in securing the health and social care rights of those with learning disabilities and mental health problems through judicial review, as well as pursuing free-standing Human Rights Act claims on a wide variety of issues. She has a particular interest in inquests and inquiries into the deaths of individuals who have not had the mental capacity to take decisions for themselves.
